The third season of K-pop Star is scheduled to premiere on November 24, 2013, airing Sunday evenings at 4:55 pm KST. Jun Hyun-moo replaces Yoon Do-hyun and Boom as host. Yang Hyun-suk and Park Jin-young return as judges. BoA is replaced by You Hee-yeol, as she focuses on her music career instead. Applications began being received in June, with preliminary auditions taking place in Seoul and throughout South Korea, as well as Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago in the United States until September 2013. With the changes in judges for the third season, the three judges will no longer represent the "Big 3" management companies but rather themselves and the music industry. Although BoA has left the judging panel and no representative of SM will be judging, SM Entertainment has not left the program and will continue to be a choice for training and for the winner to choose upon for debut.
